Chris at mettle designed this logo in After Effects using mettle's 3D plug-in ShapeShifter AE. He tells us why:
"I really enjoy designing in After Effects and have been doing so for quite a while now. The main reason I use After Effects as a design tool is because you never know where a logo needs to appear these days... print, web, stereo 3D etc. I find that After Effects has pretty much everything you need to design, model and animate in both 2D + 3D with the help of plug-ins like Shapeshifter AE. One of the main reasons I created ShapeShifter AE is to allow designers and artists to make complex 3D models, like this one, very easily using your existing 2D skills along with the AE 2D filters and effects, in a new way. This 360 animation shows the complexity of the 3D model. This also helps when planning out the final animation sequence." - Chris Bobotis
